This collection, “Muted Emotions” was inspired by areas of the body that Daryll once felt insecure about. It was her mission to celebrate the parts of her society wanted to hate most. Daryll plays with colors, shapes, and prints in an effort to highlight the beautiful curve of the body that often gets lost due to fit. Daryll chose to use purple, blue, black and yellow as the main colors in her collection. Made from a combination of blue and red, purple represented the violence Daryll lived through in Baltimore. The irony lies in the color’s symbolization of mystery, independence, and creativity. All things relating to Daryll’s interest. Using color blocking around the bust and hip area, Daryll brings a strong emphasis on the curves and shape of the body.
